(1910-2011) Nestor of Polish ornithology. Organizer of the Polish bird ringing center in the post-war period. A long-time employee of the State Zoological Museum in Warsaw (currently the Museum and Institute of Zoology of the Polish Academy of Sciences). In the years 1946-1969 Head of the Bird Migration Research Station in Warsaw and then the Ornithological Station in Górki Wschodnie near Gdańsk.
