(1922-2009) Prof. genetics, Home Army soldier, political prisoner, in 1947 he emigrated to France. Specialties: molecular biology and genetics, genomics, cellular respiration, mitochondrial biogenesis, gene structure and function, genome bioinformatics. He was the son of a doctor and biologist Piotr Słonimski (1893-1944), brother of Antoni Słonimski (1895-1976).
